This is a spanner to be used on rear shock absorbers that have the wider type collets such as R1 / R6, Taffspeed type or the CNC type Lambretta rear shocks we do.
We have been selling these successfully to go with my Lambretta rear shock conversions since 2008. 
At 3mm thick they are more thanup to the job. These are in mild steel, stainless ones are also available.
 
Please note: These are NOT suitable for shocks with standard width (1.9") springs
